CSDD requirements

Why is a school exam in theory and driving mandatory?

An internal school exam in theory and driving is mandatory in all driving schools in the country for all students who began training after 1.11.2016.

When can I take the driving test?

You can take the driving test at a driving school if you have driven the minimum number of academic hours with an instructor.

Training is conducted in Russian, English and Latvian

Need to know!

THEORETIC TRAINING

  • Before starting training at a driving school, you are registered in a study group and in the CSDD database.

  • The theoretical training course lasts 11 lessons (55 academic hours) according to a specific schedule.

  • We We organize first aid courses. During the course, you will be prepared for the theory exam at CSDD. Upon completion of the course, you will be issued a certificate that will be valid for 10 years. If you already have such a certificate, there is no need to attend the courses again.

  • Upon completion of the course, you must pass the theory exam at the driving school.

  • After successfully passing the theory exam at the driving school, you must pass the theory exam at the CSDD.

PRACTICAL TRAINING

  • Before starting practical driving lessons, you must go to the CSDD for a training permit to drive (white license), which you will need to show to the instructor before each lesson.

  • Before starting training at the driving school, you are registered in a training group and in the CSDD database.

  • To obtain a training permit to drive, you must undergo a medical examination by your family doctor. Please note whether your family doctor has included the category you need in the CSDD register. Otherwise, a repeat medical examination will be required. The family doctor enters the information into the CSDD database electronically.

  • The minimum number of mandatory driving lessons will depend on the level of practical skills, but not less than 20 academic hours (45 min.).

  • You will agree individually with the instructor on the course and schedule of practical lessons.

  • When the level of practical knowledge is sufficient, you will be sent to the exam at CSDD.

  • Valid medical certificate with an open category "A". The expiration date can be checked at e.csdd.lv
